For video game geeks: Atari 2600 iPhone speaker dock

Posted: 07 Apr 2013 10:00 PM PDT

Atari 2600 has almost faded into oblivion, and if you aren't an old school gamer, you probably don't remember it, but luckily for all retro video games fans, today we have an interesting speaker dock.

Atari 2600 iPhone speaker dock combines both old and the new into a single device, and as you can see, this speaker dock is made from old Atari 2600 unit. Instead of throwing away old and broken Atari 2600, Peter Morris decided to use it to create a retro-looking and geeky speaker dock for iPhone. Current version of this speaker dock is compatible with 30-pin dock connector, but according to Morris, we might see models compatible with iPhone 5 in the future. This speaker dock will feature six EQ settings, FM radio and a remote control. In addition, there's a line-in port, so you can connect all sorts of other audio devices to it.

Atari 2600 speaker dock looks great, although we have no information about its output power or sound quality. Only one model is currently available, and it's priced at $230.
