HÖVDING – latest inflatable helmet for cyclists Posted: 07 May 2015 04:54 AM PDT Most gadgets that are inflatable tend to be soft, even when fully inflated, normally this makes it the least likely mechanism unpinning devices that are used for head protection. At £250 a pop Hövding is an airbag for cyclists developed by a Swedish company and has just launched here in the UK – Bristol. As oppose to wearing a helmet, you wear a battery powered neck collar that senses when an accident is about to happen and blows up and inflates, thereby protecting your head with an airbag before you land. It’s billed as the safest thing a cyclist can wear, even over the standard. [via Hovding]
