Infrascanner 2000: Portable CT scanner

Head trauma is always serious, and sometimes head scan is needed, and this is where today's device might come in handy.

Infrascanner 2000 is a non-invasive CT scanner, and it will allow you to perform a head scan quickly and anywhere. This device is designed like a wand, and it works like a portable CT scanner thanks to the Near Infrared technology, and it measures light absorption in both halves of the brain in order to detect a hematoma. This device uses 808nm diode laser that works with light detectors with NIR filters that are placed on the head, and in order to perform a scan, you just need to hold the Infrascanner 2000 about 4cm away from the sensors, and the light will react with the tissue under the sensors, while sending information back to the device. As for the speed, it takes about two minutes to perform a head scan with Infrascanner 2000. This device is powered by two AA batteries, and it has been approved by FDA in 2011.

Infrascanner 2000 sounds useful, but so far, there's no information about availability or pricing.

Rumor: Asus MeMo Pad 10 hardware specs

Asus is famous for its tablets and smartphones, and if you're a fan of Asus' tablets, we have some rumors about the latest Asus’ tablet – Asus MeMo Pad 10.

According to a Dutch website, Asus MeMo Pad 10 should use 10-inch display with 1,280 x 800 pixel resolution. Additional features include quad-core 1.2GHz NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor, 1GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage space, but if that's not enough storage space for your needs, there's also a microSD memory card slot. As for the camera, there's a 5-megapixel camera available at the back side, and when it comes to the operating system, Asus MeMo Pad 10 runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Keep in mind that this information isn't official, and it might change in the future, but so far, Asus MeMo Pad 10 sounds promising. Regarding the price, rumor has it that Asus MeMo Pad 10 should cost about €299, but that information hasn't been confirmed.
