Vending Machines in Japan provide free WiFi

You probably remember Vending Machine 2.0 from Japan, and if you like using vending machines, we're happy to inform you that vending machines in Japan are able to provide you with WiFi as well.

Asahi Soft Drinks from Japan recently showed its new vending machine that provides its users with drinks and with wireless internet as well. Wireless internet is free to use, and it's available to anybody within 50m radius, to both customers and passers. After the user has logged in, he or she will see the location-specific information on the home screen, as well as the locations of local stores and sightseeing spots, so these vending machines will be perfect for tourists. Asahi Soft Drinks plans to put 1000 vending machines in Japan in 2012, and so far these vending machines will be available in Tokyo, Sendai, Chubu, Kinki, and Fukuoka.

We have to mention that this company has long-term plans as well, and we should see 10 000 vending machines with WiFi on the streets of Japan over the next five years.
