Posted: 24 Oct 2011 01:55 AM PDT

Robots can do all sorts of things, and some of them, like PR2, can bring you sandwiches, while others, like the ones that we're showing you today, can play a game of table tennis on their own.

Wu and Kong are table tennis robots created by Chinese scientists and two of them can play a game of table tennis against each other with ease. Both of these robots are 1.6 meters tall and each of them weights 55kg, and they can serve, return, and score a point in a game of table tennis. These robots are using eye-mounted cameras in order to track the ball's position, predict the movement of the ball and to choose the right response for the given situation. We have to mention that these robots have 50 to 100 milliseconds response time, which is enough in for most situations in table tennis.

It's great to see that two robots can play a game of table tennis together, and in case you want to play against a robot partner, you'll be pleased to know that both of these robots can work with human opponents as well.
