Sony Xperia M entry-level smartphone announced

Sony is famous for its devices, and if you're a fan of Sony's smartphones, you might be interested in the latest member of the Xperia family.



Sony Xperia M comes with OmniBalance design, and with circular power button. Speaking of design, there's also a color-changing illuminated notification light that alerts you about the upcoming calls and text notifications. Regarding the hardware, Xperia M is powered by Qualcomm 1GHz SnapDragon dual-core processor and 1GB RAM.

This device comes with 4-inch capacitive touchscreen that uses 854×480 resolution, and there's also a 5 Megapixel camera with LED flash, and this camera supports Auto Focus, 720p HD video recording, Sweep Panorama, touch focus and face detection. In addition, there's a front-facing camera for video chat as well. Regarding the connectivity, there's Bluetooth and WiFi as well as NFC.

There are also Sony's one-touch functions, such as backup, mirroring to BRAVIA HDTVs, listening and sharing. Regarding the storage, this device comes with 4GB of internal storage, but there's a microSD slot for expansion. There will also be a model with dual SIM support as well.

Xperia M and Xperia M dual SIM sound great, and as for the availability, we should see these phones available in third quarter of 2013.

Officially announced: Motorola Moto X

We already wrote about Motorola Moto X, and recently we saw few smartphones from Motorola, so after Motorola DROID MAXX, we're pleased to inform you that Moto X has been officially announced.



It seems that rumors that we covered about Moto X turned out to be true, because this device comes with 4.7-inch AMOLED display that uses 720p resolution, and 10-megapixel "ClearPixel" back camera that can support 1080p video recording. Inside the device there's Motorola's X8 chipset that consists of 1.7GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro, Adreno 320 GPUs, and 2GB of RAM. There are also specialized processors designed to handle natural language processing and information. Additional features that Moto X supports are always on voice commands, the motion-sensitive Active Display, and the twisty camera activation gesture. Moto X runs on Android 4.2.2, but sadly, this device comes without microSD card slot, so you're limited to 16GB and 32GB of internal storage.

Moto X sounds interesting, and we should see it available at end of August or at the beginning of September. As for the price, 16GB model is priced at $199 with a contract.

Motorola DROID MAXX offers up to extra 48 hours of battery life

Folks from Motorola have been busy, and after DROID ULTRA and DROID MINI, they have announced another smartphone, so let's have a closer look at it.



Motorola DROID MAXX is almost identical to Motorola DROID ULTRA and Motorola DROID MINI, but it comes with 3500mAh battery that can extend your battery life up to 48 hours. DROID MAXX comes with same design and Kevlar unibody, and it's 8.5mm thick. Regarding the hardware power, this smartphone comes with Motorola's X processing unit, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage space. As for additional hardware, Motorola DROID MAXX comes with 5-inch 720p display, 10 Megapixel camera, 2 Megapixel front camera for video chat, and 4G LTE. Basically, this device has similar hardware specs as Motorola DROID ULTRA.

If battery life is a problem for you, Motorola DROID MAXX might be just what you need. As for the availability and price, you can get Motorola DROID MAXX for $299 with a 2-year contract.

Motorola DROID Mini: Minified version of Motorola Droid ULTRA

Verizon and Motorola have launched Motorola DROID ULTRA, but if you're looking for something smaller and more affordable, you might be interested in this model.



Motorola DROID Mini offers same hardware specs as its bigger brother, Motorola DROID ULTRA, but it comes with 4.3-inch 720p HD touchscreen. There's also a 10 Megapixel main camera, and 2 Megapixel front camera for video calls. Also, we have to point out that this device comes with 2000mAh battery. Other hardware specs remain the same, so you'll find SnapDragon S4 Pro-based computing engine, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage space on the inside. As for additional features, there's Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, GPS/APGS, 4G LTE just like on Motorola DROID ULTRA.

If you cannot afford Motorola DROID ULTRA, Motorola DROID Mini can be a great alternative, if you don't mind smaller screen and battery. As for the availability, we should see DROID mini available on August 29th for $99.99 with a 2-year contract.

Verizon and Motorola have teamed up to bring us new DROID smartphones, so let's see what does this new DROID device have to offer.



Motorola DROID ULTRA comes with glossy color Kevlar composite unibody and it's just 7.18mm thick. This device is powered by X8 Mobile Computing System, and this system comprises SnapDragon S4 Pro 1.7Ghz dual-core CPU, a quad-core Adreno 320 GPU, a natural language processor and a contextual computing processor. Thanks to Computing System, you can make calls, find directions, search using voice control even if your device is asleep. Regarding the memory, this device has 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage space. Motorola DROID ULTRA comes with 5-inch 1280x720p HD touchscreen, 10 Megapixel back camera, 2 Megapixel front camera for video calls and LED flash. Additional features include Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, NFC, GPS/AGPS and HSDPA/LTE connectivity. We also have to mention that this device uses Nano SIM, just like iPhone 5.
